What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese art, which promotes the body’s own self-healing, and creates relaxation and wellbeing. It is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "universal life energy".
I first came across Reiki in 2009, during a particularly difficult time in my life, emotionally. Linden at 24-7 Beauty is my Mum, and a firm believer in holistic healing, so suggested I try Reiki. During this session I was amazed to feel these wonderful waves of energy through my body, which released a huge weight of emotion inside which I had until then, kept locked away. Following my first treatment, I felt so much lighter, calm and relaxed that I decided to continue on this holistic journey myself. Since then, I have gone on to take my Reiki I and II, and have worked on many clients with all manner of physical, and emotional imbalances, all of whom who have experienced varying positive benefits.
I work on the belief that, as running water smoothes the jagged edges of a rock until it is small enough to roll away, Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki restores balance in one's life. As a complementary therapy, Reiki also works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.
